Extended warranties are usually very inexpensive and can save you thousands in the future. It's simple and inexpensive to purchase extended warranties and one of the smartest ways to protect your investment.

Electronics can be large, heavy and expensive. You probably don't have the special tools or expertise needed to fix them in a crisis. If you can spare a few thousand dollars without batting an eyelash for new electronics should they break tomorrow, don't buy a warranty. But if you're like most of us, protect yourself by purchasing inexpensive extended warranties when you buy a new product and save yourself big money in the long run.

LG CX vs. LG B9 -- GO WITH THE LG CX

Abraxas 11/7/2020

Sites like RTings.com have the LG B9 rated very highly in most categories and say that its a great introductery level OLED because of the price. So I went ahead and purchased it from COSTCO. The first TV had some pixels burnt out so I exchanged it for a new one. The new TV was in good condition no pixels burnt out. Movies were incredibly vivid and was noticing so many details I never saw before. Same with games. Then I watched the Hunger Games 2 and in one of the scenes theres a ship that flies over trees and I started to see motion blur. Maybe it was just the movie? So I tried another movie and the same thing happened. I started noticing the LG B9 has a hard time keeping up with the motion of objects on screen and it wasnt a little motion blur. It was ALOT. To the point where it really started bothering me and taking away from the movie experience. Tried all the different settings and nothing fixed it. Next issue I noticed was the banding. Theres a great scene at the start of The Last Of Us 2 PS4 game that has a porchlight in the top right of the screen with a dark background and moths flying around the light. The ambience from the porchlight was clearly showing banding and instead of fluid images that gradually went from a lighter grey to black/dark like in real life there was a band around the light that was light grey then another band that was a little darker grey and so on. It wasnt a natural light ambience that looked realistic it just looked like one band of grey then another darker band and so on. I tried the pixel refresh a few times but nothing changed. So I started researching other TVs I was still within my 90 day return/exchange window and the LG CX caught my eye. RTings.com has the LG B9 and the LG CX nearly rated the same in most categories so I wondered if it was even worth it. People online said that average viewers that arent trained to notice small differences will not notice a change between LG B9 and the LG CX. They often said the extra ~400$ wasnt worth it. Knowing what I know now in my opinion they were 100 WRONG. I went to COSTCO and went to see for myself. The LG CX looked sleek the details and color were so vivid compared to the B9. I knew Id have this TV for next 5 years and I wanted a TV with 4K 120 fps which the LG B9 doesnt support so I exchanged the B9 for the CX. I tried watching the movies with fast moving objects that the B9 had problems with and was pleasantly surprised to notice there was no motion blur at least nothing as noticeable as B9 and that when I turned on Last Of Us 2 the porch light ambience showed a fluid gradual contrast ambience around the light. No more banding It upscaled images 100 better than the B9 and the audio sound compared to the B9 was SUPERB. The CX TVs sound is SUPERB pretty darn close to having surround sound quality with incredible bass. I know I know who buys a 2000$+ TV and doesnt have surround sound?? Well Im also buying a PS5 so money is a bit tight right now. I was NOT expecting the quality of sound coming from the LG CX. I just wanted to write this review for others that might be considering exchanging/upgrading to the CX. In my opinion sites like RTings and Reddit where people say the difference between the B9 and CX are negligible are wrong. I noticed a difference between the two and Im no TV expert. In my opinion the extra few hundred dollars it 100 worth it for the upgraded image quality likely because of the better processing chip in the CX and sound quality. Also many stores have started their Black friday savings early this year due to the pandemic so I only ended up paying 150$ more for the CX compared to the B9. If you want a TV thats going to be able to keep up with the new console generation and a great all around experience with movies then buy the LG CX. Like me you might have this TV for years to come so dont settle for a budget TV or you might regret it later on...

Best tv ever

DessiDanae 10/8/2020

I have never realized how much detail I was truly missing by not investing in an OLED tv sooner This was worth every cent I paid for it. The first photo is a 2018 LED tv I own. The 2nd is the same time stamp on my oled. Unbelievable contrast

HDMI 2.1 issue with 3080 4k120hz 444 gsync

Drahk 9/21/2020

So been using this tv since release with no issues. Beautiful pictures and loving it. So why the 1 Star? I use this tv in my game room. Its connected to all my console and pc. So with pc like the title stated 4k120hz 444 gsync just doesnt work well. Very disappointing since lg boast about gsync and their HDMI 2.1 secondly I bought this tv for 1 purpose and that is gaming. Hope an update comes and fix this.

Poor Build Quality Very Disappointing

Comoled34 9/7/2020

Purchased this and less than 10 minutes into the install process found out that the stand/base wouldnt screw together. It takes three screws but one would never go in more than half way. Seems like the hole wasnt tapped correctly. Tried multiple angles pressures backing it out screwing in the others lightly first etc. and no dice. Fundamentally the stand just seems to be defective. Thus the install ended one hour after I received it. Does the TV even power on? Heck if I know. Called customer service and they immediately offered to send a new stand. Guessing they cheaped out in manufacturing and now have to repair these in the warranty stage. They stated it will arrive in 7-10 days which is 3x longer than the original shipping time so thats incredibly disappointing. Overall Ive never had a problem with a purchase this expensive before regarding simple stand installation. The CX is supposed to be the premium model and if the stand reflects the rest of the experience I dont think this TV is going to last long. Id highly advise buying a third party warranty based on my simple unboxing experience.

Great TV EXCEPT ...

benk51 7/18/2020

Very satisfied except for ONE MAJOR ANNOYANCE. Shortly after starting and randomly at times Meet Google Assistant screen that obliterates the entire screen pops up. It only offers one option - continue - no way to say NO or DONT ASK AGAIN. This screen should not pop up repeatedly after turning off once. Very frustrating

Remote does not sync with Sonus Soundbar

Hojohn1961 7/12/2020

I just purchased the 55CXPUA and the install with pretty easy. Very disappointed that a Sonus Soundbar connected with Optical Cable does not fully sync. Volume control will not work with the Magic Remote not very magical. Ive tried numerous fixes described but unable to even find the soundbar in the Device Connection Settings. Super disappointing for such a highly rated TV. Need a fix please.
